| Invitation to bid for "Vardar Valley" |

The Government of the Republic of Macedonia has published a request for Expressions of Interest for the construction of medium and small-sized hydro-power plants along Vardar River. The project called “Vardar Valley,” initially contemplates the construction of 12 hydroelectricity plants at various locations along the rivers course from Veles to Gevgelija. Macedonia's Minister of Economy, Fatmir Besimi, stated that another 65 locations have been chosen for the construction of hydropower plants and will soon be offered through tender. The cost of the project is set at 1.2 billion euros. The plants' overall installation capacity is set at 320 megawatts. The estimated average annual generation of electric power is set at 1.000 gigawatt hours.
The companies that are interested should express their intent by March 15.
